Violet Harmon is a seventeen-year-old girl. She'll be a seventeen-year-old girl forever, or as long as her spirit is confined in the Murder House, along with several other ghosts who have died there in various violent ways over the past 80 years. She died there in 2011.

When she was alive she was prone to depression, although she had (and has) an inner strength that belied her slight, rather mopey appearance. She has a sardonic sense of humor, she's clever, and she stood up to bullies, and, once she knew how, to the ghosts in the house. She felt ignored by her parents, whose marriage was breaking up when they moved from Boston to California. She would cut her forearms, and she wears long sleeves most of the time to hide the scars. This is not something she does any longer.

She overdosed on pills by accident in a frantic attempt to escape her problems. Her then boyfriend - another ghost called Tate - tried to save her, but it was too late for that. She didn't know she was dead for almost three weeks. When she discovered it, the cycle of violence in the house came to a head, and soon she was joined by the ghosts of her mother, her father, and her infant brother. She also found out that Tate, a psychopath killed by police after a high school massacre, raped her mother and fathered the living twin his conniving grandmother stole from the house.

Now, a few years later, she and her family are surprisingly happy together in their afterlife, but she gets bored and restless easily as she watches the world move on from behind the windows. While she spent a lot of time when alive in her room, that can get a little tiring when you can't download new music on your iPod and you're confined to the house and its grounds permanently (except for one night a year – Halloween). She has a physical presence, but she can disappear and reappear at will. She can act as a living person does, eating (although she doesn't have to), having sex (even though there really isn't anyone in the house she wants to sleep with), and sleeping.

When she comes to Milliways, she will assume it is another room of the house, and all of its occupants ghosts like her. It will be great to get away. She doesn't see Tate; she ordered him to go away and leave her alone, but she knows he's still there.

She looks as she does in her icons and is 5'6". She wears long skirts, leggings, Chuck Taylors, and hats.

She'll never go to college, never have kids, never go back to Boston, and she's trapped with more than a few volatile and crazed spirits in a sprawling 1920s mansion. It's a wonder she's doing as well as she is.

Violet Harmon is from American Horror Story - Murder House, and is the property of Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy. She appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in [community profile] milliways_bar, from which no profit whatsoever is being made. Taissa Farmiga is the actress who plays her.
